Firewall and Unified Threat Management

The firewall, built in to the Auxilio Security, is just a small building block of its security features.
It doesn't simply filters and block access from potential intruders coming from the Internet but it also makes sure that no applications or services present inside your networks could be used to put in danger your data.

Firewallfirewall48x48

The logic adopted is very simple as the firewall blocks everything that hasn't been authorised to come in to or go out from your network. This way all needed services can be enabled after being checked for potential security issues.

Multilevel FirewallApplication Firewall

This additional protection level, known as "Layer 7 Firewall", can identify and block applications that use communication channels that should be generally used only by authorised software. Skype is an example of how an application could use the communication channels (http) used generally by web browser so it could be very difficult to stop its usage counting only on the type of traffic it generates. The application firewall in this case will block the application itself from communicating with anything outside the local network.

IDS and IPSIDS e IPS

Detection Systems and Intrusion Prevention Systems represent two methodologies and related tools that further help in securing your networks. With those tools it is possible to exploit potential vulnerabilities present in some applications and operative systems you may use. If you expose to the Internet a web server, a database or your VoIP PBX, if not properly secured and up to date, they could be used to gain access to your network. The IDS and IPS solution present on Auxilio Security recognise those intrusion attempts and blocks them.
